Dictate text
Capture your voice and turn it into editable text with Koeva's local press-to-talk and continuous recording shortcuts.
Record a dictation
- Open Koeva settings, choose your microphone, and review the Press to talk and Toggle recording shortcuts.
- For quick dictation, place the cursor in the target app and hold the Press to talk shortcut while you speak.
- Release the shortcut when your thought is complete. Koeva processes the audio locally and writes the recognized text into the active app.
- For a continuous session, use the Toggle recording shortcut once to start and again to stop.
- Review the continuous-session result before using it in your workflow.
Improve results
- Use a clear microphone and reduce background noise.
- Speak in complete phrases to improve punctuation.
- Add custom spellings for names, product terms, and words that sound similar.
- Keep the laptop connected to power when processing longer recordings.
When processing is slow
If the processing indicator disappears without returning text, or if your graphics card stays fully loaded for an unusually long time, open the slow transcription guide.
